Abbotsford 86ers top Firebirds 2-0
The Firebirds ended up 0-2 on their weekend road trip when they fell to Abbotsford 2-0. Details will be posted tomorrow.

Late Seattle rally edges Firebirds 2-1
Jason Crevar scored in the 36th minute, and it appeared that John & Phil's Willamette Valley Firebirds were on the way to their third league win until Seattle's Ian Chursky found the net during injury time to level the score at 1-1. Chursky once again found the net after nine minutes of extra time to give the Sounders Select a 2-1 win and improve their record on the season to 7-0. The Firebirds fall to 2-5. A match report from Seattle Pitch can be found here.

Howes and Winters both make major contributions to their A-League sides
Midfielder Greg Howes, who led the Firebirds in scoring in 1999, has become one of the A-League Seattle Sounders most consistant scorers, scoring three goals in the last three games. On Wednesday night, he scored the lone Seattle goal in their 2-1 US Open Cup loss to the MLS Los Angeles Galaxy. On Saturday, he scored the first Seattle goal in their 2-1 win over the San Diego Flash. And on Sunday, he scored the first goal in the Sounders' 3-0 win over the Vancouver 86ers.

Former Firebirds midfielder Brian Winters scored in the 84th minute for the defending A-League champion Minnesota Thunder in their 4-0 win over the Cincinnati Riverhawks.
